Bran Van 3000 es un grupo de elctronica colectiva de Montreal, Canada. Fundado por DJ James Di Salvo, en colaboración con Stephane Moraille, Sara Johnston, Steve "LIquid" Hawley, Jayne Hill y muchos otros musicos.
Drinking in L.A. fué su primer sencillo, se dió a conocer en la radio en febrero de 1997 en canada, y el mismo año la banda publicó su primer disco, llamado Glee. El cual contíene 17 tracks, uno de ellos en frances. El disco alcanzó el oro en 1998 y ganó un premio Juno como mejor album alternativo
La canción en sí es una mezcla de diferentes corrientes musicales, que reflejan en complejo las inclinaciones de cada uno de los integrabtes del grupo. En su momento esta canción estuvo en las principales listas de popularidad, pero eso no es importante, lo importante es que es una gran canción lo cual la convierte en la primera de muchas "que roll-on"
